SAFEMARK
COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER
The Safemark Communications Manager (SCM) is a turnkey computer
system that enables the online RF safes to post charges to
the Property Management System (PMS). It also monitors the
safes and the wireless infrastructure for proper operation,
provides Locked from Previous Guest reports, provides automated
safe low battery alerts, and provides a variety of usage and
revenue reports. The SCM system can be installed into a wide
variety of IT infrastructures, almost any that can currently
be found in hospitality properties.

COMPUTER SPECIFICATIONS
- Dell® Dimension Tower CPU, 15" monitor,
standard keyboard and mouse
- Microsoft® Windows XP Professional
- Safemark's proprietary RF modem
- Proprietary Safemark Communication Manager Software
The
SCM must be interfaced to the Property Management System to
facilitate charge postings. Interface software for specific
brands of PMS is developed on demand by Safemark and the PMS
company. If interface development is required, Safemark will
work with the property and PMS company to accomplish this
in an expedited manner. The physical connection between the
SCM computer system and the PMS computer system, is accomplished
through an industry standard RS 232 serial link.

WIRELESS NETWORK
SafeCom's wireless network is comprised of radio modules in
each guestroom safe, Safemark transceivers located at select
areas of the property, and a Safemark RF modem attached to
the SCM computer. This network provides wireless communication
between the safes and the SCM computer system, eliminating
the need for expensive and cumbersome hard-wire cabling to
be installed property wide.
The Safemark transceiver is small, enabling it to be mounted
in inconspicuous locations such as dropped ceilings, light
panels, or behind furniture. Placement of the transceiver
is dictated by several factors, such as guestroom layout,
building construction, availability of common areas (vending/ice).
Number and placement of transceivers is determined as part
of a detailed site survey; however, an estimate of 10-15 safes
per transceiver is a good rule-of-thumb. The transceivers
are easy to mount and require no manual configuration.
PROPERTY
REQUIREMENTS:
- Secure location for computer system
- Two (2) 120V wall plugs (located within
3 feet from the mounted transceiver)
- Static IP address (if on property network)
for remote access
- Direct Dial phone line (DID) if not on property
network for remote access

to the property's network (or there's no main property
